About us.
We are a family run dairy farm on the outskirts of a small village called Rose Ash, approximately 10 minute drive to the market town of South Molton in North Devon. As well as our dairy cows we have a variety of animals - pigs, horses, Goats, chickens and ducks, dogs and cats.
The Little Silver Stream is based in 11 acres of mixed broadleaf woodland and 11 acres of meadow, which is predominantly untouched. The idea of wild camping is to be able to see, hear and be at one with mother nature at her best.
The wood is a broad leaf wood with many different residents - Badgers, Foxes, Deer, Rabbits, Squirrels, many different Birds and Bugs, all make this beautiful part of Devon their home.
We pride ourselves in offering a traditional relaxed campsite, you choose where to pitch up, tucked away into the wood or out in the meadow or if you can not decide there are small copse throughout the meadows for a bit of both worlds.
We don't really do times either for arrival or departure, we feel it keeps it chilled and relaxed, but please be respectful to others. Late night arrivals are not ideal, there is no lighting, so mooching around an unknown meadow in the dark can cause disturbance to others. We ask if you could be in by 8pm.
South Molton is a old market town and has an abundance of individual shops and tea rooms.
We have some wonderful local public houses, which offer a variety of locally sourced food and beverages. Just off the link road there is the Log cabin Diner which offer one of the best breakfasts around.
As a working dairy farm we are quite happy to answer questions and will do so honestly, you can ask to come and see the calves and watch the milking, understanding where your food comes from is important to us. Please accompany your children, sometimes we need help to decipher some dialogue!
